Making Research Happen
Here at the YKRF we have just one thing that we focus on every day. This is to ensure that the highest quality research is funded, and that this makes a real difference to people's lives.
Some of Dr Hornigold’s results. The panel on the left (a) shows a normal kidney glomerulus with no Hic-5 or scar protein. The middle panel (b) shows a glomerulus half-affected with disease with pink staining Hic-5 and brown staining scar protein. The right hand panel (c) shows a totally diseased glomerulus with pink- and brown-staining Hic-5 and scar protein throughout its structure.
Dr Hornigold discusses his results with a scientist from America wanting to learn more about the Yorkshire-based research.
Dr Hornigold pauses outside the Denver Convention Centre after presenting some of his work. The famous “Blue Bear” sculpture is in the background.
